Uptown Farms Show Sheep Futurity

For all our customers under the age of 22

Do well at your shows and tell us about it!  We will give your farm credits for the fall or next year.  There is no limit on the amount of credits you can receive.  Just keep on sending us your results from your Uptown Farm Sheep.  Please send us an official result sheet or a handwritten result sheet signed by Fair Superintendent and yourself! Sheep can be any age or sex.  Sheep can be purchased off farm or at a sale. 

v Top 5 at a County Fair = $10.00

v Class Winner at a County Fair = $15.00

v Res. Champion at a County Fair = $20.00

v Champion at a County Fair = $25.00

v Supreme Champion Over All Breeds at a County Fair= $50.00

v Top 5 at State Fair= $25.00

v Class Winner at State Fair= $50.00

v Res. Champion at State Fair= $60.00

v Champion at a State Fair= $100.00

v National Level Shows pay $5 more than State Fairs

v Win a showmanship class anywhere and receive $125.00 credit!

A little different philosophy…

Every farm has a different perspective on raising sheep.  At Uptown Farms we do not believe in pushing our animals so hard they get fat and do not work.  We believe in raising green lambs, that are honestly aged, and will stand a better chance at growing out and will actually lamb without issue!

Here are our promises.  Not Just on Suffolk Lambs, but on Tunis and Hamps as well.

v  At Sale time, our lambs will be smaller.  They will actually probably look tiny.  You will probably doubt yourself when bidding on our lambs.  Will they be big enough?

v  At State Fair time, our lambs will be starting to catch up, but still smaller.  You will do well with them if you have a judge who knows structure.  If you have a judge that likes size, you probably will not do well.

v  At Louisville time, the lambs that were bigger all year will be fat.  They still will do well but so will our lambs.

v  Our lambs will still be green, and pretty close in size now.

v  As yearlings, you can show the same sheep you showed as lambs.  You do not need to have two sets of sheep.  One set of lambs you over-feed to show as lambs and one set you feed right so you can actually show them as yearlings.  If this is your plan we suggest having three sets.  One show-lamb set, one show-yearling set, and one set to actually reproduce for you.

v  In the lambing barn, you can lamb out our ewes without having to call the vet in the middle of the night for assistance.  In fact, we suggest you not even be there in the middle of the night.  You should be sleeping.  Unless, you have someone else’s sheep that need all kinds of assistance.

v  In the event of a question, concern, problem, or anything else, YOU CAN CALL US.  We may have been there, or know someone who has.  If not, we will do everything we can to answer your question, fix the problem, or cover your concern.

We understand that 4-H and FFA projects are the building block of our entire industry.  Our customers are important to us at Uptown Farms.  That is why we offer group discounts, 4-H and FFA discounts, and returning customer discounts.
